The Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) courses are certified for CME and CNE credit through Joint Providership between United Medical Education (UME) and Postgraduate Institute for Medicine (PIM).

This activity is intended for healthcare providers engaged in the care of patients experiencing cardiac arrest in both the out-of-hospital and in-hospital settings and also healthcare providers delivering primary care to adolescents and adults.

After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:

  • Identify cardiac arrest, life threatening cardiac arrhythmias, and respiratory failure.
  • Perform proper emergency interventions relating to specific cardiac arrhythmias.
  • Understand the fundamentals for respiratory management in the event of respiratory failure.
